Priest gives handwritten letter of apology to 17-yo mother
Redemptorist priest Romeo Obach sends a handwritten letter of apology to 17-year old mom and wants to personally ask for forgiveness.
The letter was given today by a close family friend who went to the Redemptorist church yesterday.
The teenage mom said she is no longer interested in filing a case against the priest as she wants to focus more on her studies.
Here is an English translation of Fr. Obach’s letter:
Dear (name of girl),
Allow me to express my deep regret for the painful action I’ve done to all of you and those who witnessed it.
I had no intention of saying that in front of all of you.
I deeply regret this and I beg you to forgive me for what I did last July 6, 2014 in the chapel of the Sacred Heart.
I hope that the wounds in our hearts caused by this unintended injury will heal quickly.
Again please forgive me (name of girl).
I am ready to meet you at your convenient time and place so I can personally ask for your forgiveness.
