MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Disaster personnel in Danao City inspected the different rivers in their area on Monday morning, January 11, 2021, following the issuance of an orange rainfall warning by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In an advisory, CDRRMO-Danao City said it will continue to monitor the city’s flood prone areas as it anticipates heavy downpour within the day.

Pagasa, in its 6:30 a.m. advisory, warned of flooding in low-lying areas and possible landslides in the mountains of northern Cebu as a result of rains caused by the “tail-end of a frontal system.”

“This information is based on current radar trends and all available meteorological data,” Pagasa said.

The weather bureau asked the Cebuanos and the concerned disaster risk reduction and management councils “to take appropriate actions, MONITOR the weather condition” and to wait for their next advisories.
