LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City Government has already started distributing leaflets containing information on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine today, February 23, 2021.

Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan led the distribution of the leaflets this morning at the Lapu-Lapu City Public Market in Barangay Poblacion.

Chan said that the move aims to encourage Oponganons to participate in the government’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program.

“Pina-educate natin yung mga tao tungkol sa COVID-19 vaccine kasi maraming nagtatanong kung safe ba yung vaccination ng COVID-19. So lahat ng mga tanong nila nandito, nilagay namin, at merong mga sagot para maintindahan nila kung gaano ka-importante yung COVID-19 vaccination,” Chan said.

The mayor also encouraged the public to read the leaflets and to not just ignore them after they receive the material.

Earlier, Chan said that they will be printing 100,000 copies of the leaflets.

The leaflets answer common questions regarding the vaccine, such as what is a vaccine? Why do we need to get vaccinated? Who are the priorities to be vaccinated with the COVID-19? Is the vaccine is safe? Is it for free? How effective is the COVID-19 vaccine? among others. /rcg
