CEBU CITY, Philippines – Unidentified robbers stole three piggy banks on Thursday dawn, February 25 from a convent office in Talisay City.

Reports from the Talisay City Police Station showed that the robbers stole three piggy banks inside the convent office of the St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Barangay Tabunok.

Initial findings from investigators stated that one of the church’s utility workers, identified as Arnold Tangaro, discovered signs that the convent’s door was forcibly open.

Tangaro reported the incident to the other workers who in turn alerted the police at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday. Police believed that the robbers could have barged in undetected around 1 a.m. or around eight hours earlier.

Authorities are still determining the total amount of money stored in the stolen piggy banks as of this posting. /rcg
