(Updated, 1:30 p.m.) CEBU CITY, Philippines—Cebuano combat sports trainers and athletes are set to claim their financial aid from the Assistance to Individuals In Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

The distribution of financial aid for Cebuano combat sports athletes and trainers is being held at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

AICS is initiated by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

61 Cebuano combat sports trainers and athletes have confirmed to claim the P3,000 financial aid as of this posting, according to GAB officials.

Aside from the cash aid, beneficiaries will also get food packs at the CCSC.

In total, more than 150 combat athletes and trainers from around the country have already benefited from the AICS program, which started in August 2020.
