Llavanes, Kapuno top Cepca weekly online chess
CEBU CITY, Philippines—National Master (NM) Ronald Llavanes and Filemon Kapuno III emerged as the best wood pushers in the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) weekly online chess tournament on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
NM Llavanes dominated the All-Cepcans arena by collecting 51 points, while Kapuno, an architect, topped the Prexy Jerry Blitz arena with 37 points.
The tournament follows an arena-style blitz format using the Lichess.org platform.
NM Llavanes had an 82-percent winning percentage in his 17-game campaign.
Antonio Cabibil finished second with 44 points, while Rosendo Yamyamin rounded off the top three wood pushers in the All-Cepcans arena with 32 points.
Meanwhile, Kapuno III finished 16 games and had a 75-percent winning percentage.
His runners up were Reynaldo Flores with 34 points and Richard Ouano with 20 points.
