One team is trying to prove that they are still the kings of the hill while another is bent on making it to the top.

With these in mind, something is bound to give as the reigning champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers battle the University of San Carlos (USC)  Warriors today in the Cesafi men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

Gametime of what is expected to be a ferocious encounter starts at 5:30 p.m.

After stumbling off the block, the Green Lancers quickly reminded everyone of their stature as they blasted the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 91-46, in a game that saw UV hold down the former to an all-time league low of one point in the first period.

Making the lopsided win even more impressive was the fact that they did it without new import Jeffakins Aguara who was sidelined due to an ankle injury.

Six-foot-11 reinforcement Jean Marie Mpouma, also went scoreless in that game.

On the other hand, USC is aiming to break into the win column after suffering a close 67-69 loss to Southwestern University last weekend.

The Warriors were ahead for most of the game before collapsing in the endgame, which led to a bucket by Cobras guard Jasper Parker with just two seconds remaining in the game that sealed the loss.

However, big things are still expected out of the Warriors as gleamed by the stellar play of their African imports, Shooster Olago and Toyambe Espoir against SWU.
Meanwhile, three games in the juniors division are also on tap today highlighted by the match between title contender, USC, and the upstart, UC Baby Webmasters.
