‘Sanman Bubble VI’: It’s a go for Oct. 29 slugfest in Gensan

CEBU CITY, Philippines— It is all systems go for the “Sanman Bubble VI” slugfest on Friday, October 29, 2021, in General Santos City after the protagonists of the nine-bout fight card passed the official weigh-in today, October 28, 2021.

In the main event, Sanman Boxing Gym’s Adam Diu “Big Daddy” Abdulhamid (16-9, 8 KOs) and his opponent Jason Egera (24-22-3, 11 KOs) both tipped the weighing scales at 147 pounds to schedule their Philippine welterweight title showdown.

The 26-year-old Abdulhamid of General Santos City will try to stretch his winning streak to three after knocking out Richard Betos and Romeo Jakosalem in 2019 and 2021 respectively. 

Meanwhile, Egera eyes for a comeback win after absorbing a draw versus Roberto Gonzales last year in Taytay, Rizal.

On the other hand, the co-main event showdown featuring Sanman Boxing Gym’s unbeaten prospect Michael Casama (6-0, 6KOs) weighed in at 126lbs while his foe, Joe Tejomes (13-8, 7KOs) was way heavier at 130lbs for their 10-rounder non-title bout. 

Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga (10-1, 2KOs) stepped on the scales at 109lbs while Ramel Antaran (4-14-2) weighed in at 110lbs for their eight-rounder light flyweight duel in the undercard. 

Two-time world title challenger Aston Palicte (27-4-1, 23KOs) and Rolan Jay Biendima (15-9-1, 8KOs) weighed in at 118 and 119lbs respective for their six-rounder bantamweight bout.

Another ex-world title challenger, Joey Canoy (16-5-1, 9KOs), and his opponent Michael Camelion (11-13-3,9KOs) both weighed in at 109lbs for their six-rounder showdown in the light flyweight division. 

The rest of the fight card features Richie Mepranum vs. Nicong Calamba, Ian Sampan vs. Dave Barlan, Bryl Bayogos vs. Elizer Ambon, and Kenneth Egano vs. Nathaniel Juan.
