Former Cebu City mayor Alvin Garcia is facing trial for purportedly issuing a check for P100,000 which bounced.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by Marcelo Fua Jr., a resident of barangay Casuntingan in Mandaue City.

Sought for comment, Garcia, who is in Europe, denied issuing a check to Fua.
“I’ll take care of that when I arrive next week,” he said.

Garcia, 68 served as mayor of Cebu City from 1995 to 2001.
