A gathering to celebrate COH’s 70th founding anniversary and CHBC Banilad’s 20th anniversary was held on June 11, 2022 at the Bright Academy compound in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

The celebration was a testament of their growth from humble beginnings into becoming one of the most reliable construction hardware outlets in Cebu and the country.

Highlighting the celebration, CHBC acknowledged employees, including eight retiree awardees, who made significant contributions to the company. A posthumous award was also given to the husband of the late Anabelle Sales. Outstanding employees were given bronze, silver, gold, and diamond service awards.

The awarding ceremony was spearheaded by CHBC CEO Michael Co and COO James Co, together with Napoleon Co, the Chairman of the Board. Chairman Co was also named Lifetime Achievement Awardee during the gathering that was attended by other members of the Co family.
In his message, Michael Co shared that he used to work to fulfill an obligation instead of fulfilling a dream. He said it took him 18 years to finally find the meaning and purpose of his working for COH.
“All the people who have dedicated their years in the store, I hope, like me, all of you have found your calling, your purpose, your meaning, and why you are still here. I would like to point out that the next growth of this company will come from you. The seemingly small and assuming work that you do every day will come together to deliver that exceptional and distinct customer experience and service through the product we sell,” he added.
Moreover, James Co said, celebrating milestones takes them back to where they were when they started their company. The legacy built by his uncle and father is the foundation of what the company has become and what it will be like in the future.
During the last quarter of 2022, they will be opening CHBC Carcar, the latest addition to their growing family.

After the awarding ceremony, the company raffled off P50,000 worth of home-renovation products to six lucky employees.
Those coming from their branches located in Mactan, Consolacion, Minglanilla, and Labangon in Cebu City attended the celebration via Zoom.
