An early morning fire destroyed a school building in barangay Somosa, Tabogon town in northern Cebu last Saturday.

FO1 Archie Estrella of the Bogo Fire Station said they were looking into faulty electrical wiring as the cause of the fire which destroyed the building of the Don Esteban Nolasco Memorial National High School.

The building houses the school library, faculty room,  and stockroom.

Estrella pegged the damage to property at P840,000, but the school’s principal, Noel Ursal, gave a higher estimate of P1,800,000.

Ursal said there were a computer unit, a stove set with an LPG tank, a TV set, bookshelves, books, tables and two electric fans in the building.

Estrella said that their estimate only covers the building and not what’s inside it.

The fire which was reported at 5 a.m. was controlled two minutes after the firefighters arrived at the fire scene.
