THE BORBON Police Station in northern Cebu was awarded with the Silver Eagle award for its presentation in the Performance Governance System (PGS).

Senior Insp. Arvi Arbuis, chief of the Borbon police, received the award from Chief Supt. Augusto Marquez, Deputy Director for Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), in yesterday’s awarding ceremony held at the Mariner’s Court in Cebu City.

A project initiated by the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jessie Robredo, PGS aims to come up with a strategic and performance management tool that would allow government agencies to be assessed objectively to foster transparency and accountability in the different tiers of the organization.

The Borbon Police Station was the only police precinct in Central Visayas to receive the accolade.

Arbuis said the award will serve as a challenge to work harder.
