Dumaguete PESO bares summer jobs for students

The city government of Dumaguete City alloted 165 slots for students’ summer jobs under the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) officer Socorro Mira said those qualified to apply are students 15 to  25 years old who are residents of the city.

The city government will release the SPES application forms on March 25 to 30 at the PESO on the second floor of the Dumaguete City Public Market.

The first batch is set on March 25 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for the returning SPES and Negros Oriental State University college level students. On March 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the PESO will release the forms for the graduating students of Junob and Camanjac High schools and Negros Oriental High School. Other schedules are March 27 for Dumaguete City High School and Taclobo High School and on March 30 for Hermenegilda High School, Piapi High School and out-of-school youth.

The applicants must bring their school ID and/or school card.

Mira said those hired will be assigned at the Environment and Natural Resources Office for the Clean and Green Program of the city government.
