ARTHUR Craig Pantino left for Manila yesterday to prepare for his upcoming stint in the Boys’ 14-Under World Championship tennis on April 20 to 25 in Thailand.
Ranked no. 2 in the country’s boys’ 14-under division, Pantino took a few months off from playing tennis to concentrate on his studies.
Last Tuesday, Pantino graduated from the elementary level and was named Most Outstanding Athlete in the field of tennis at the University of San Carlos-South Campus.
With this, Pantino is now back at playing tennis and is set to compete in a huge tournament in Thailand.
He will be in Manila to train together with the rest of the team composed of Michael Francis Eala and Marcus Del Rosario.
“Before he leaves for Thailand, he will undergo training in Manila. He hopes that he will be able to help the team win the title as this will be his last year playing in the Under-14 world championships,” Pantino’s mom, Lourdes, said.
