Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in Talisay City, southern Cebu last Saturday.

Ruel Asibes, a native of Carcar City, was shot in the head at close range while he was driving a multicab in barangay Tabunok.

He was rushed to the Talisay City District Hospital but was declared dead.

Police said Asibes had just come from Cebu City in his multicab when the assailant on a motorcycle drove by  the driver’s side of the vehicle and shot him.

The multicab rammed the road’s center  island as the assailant drove away. The motive of the attack is still unknown.

Six hours later, another man was gunned down in sitio Galaxy, barangay Tangke.

John Rey Cabuenas, 38, of  Ramona Village  was shot twice in the chest and arm.

Cabuenas had reportedly collected money just before the shooting.

He died at the Talisay District Hospital.

Police recovered from the crime scene his  wallet containing his driver’s license, I.D, P40 cash and some coins.

The victim’s live-in partner said her neighbor informed her of the incident.
