Another king cobra seen in Sogod, Cebu

Another king cobra, locally known as Banakon in Cebuano, has been sighted in Barangay Bagakay, Sogod, a northern town in Cebu.

In a Facebook post on Monday, February 5, a member of the Philippine Snake ID page shared an image of a deceased cobra, seeking assistance from the public in identifying the snake sighted in Sogod.

LTO-7 to work closely with authorities to probe for hit-and-run victim’s death

The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) said on Tuesday, February 6, that they would be working closely with the authorities in looking for the person responsible for the death of a young basketball player.

In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday, LTO-7 Director Glen Galario said that the LTO “will work closely with the authorities to identify the driver/owner of the vehicle,” that cost the life of Jeslar Uriel Larumble.

King Charles III diagnosed with cancer

Britain’s King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment, Buckingham Palace said Monday. Less than 18 months into his reign, the 75-year-old monarch will suspend public engagements but will continue with state business, and won’t be handing over his constitutional roles as head of state.

The palace didn’t disclose what form of cancer the king has, but said it’s not related to his recent treatment for a benign prostate condition.
