The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), or Pag-ibig Fund, is encouraging  employers to assist their employees secure the new Members Loyalty Card.

Victoria dela Peña, Pag-ibig Fund vice president for Visayas, said only 200,000 out of the 900,000 members in Cebu have availed of the card.

“We launched the card first in pilot areas, which includes Cebu, Baguio and Davao. Since last month, we have already rolled it out nationwide,” said dela Peña.

The Loyalty Card serves as an additional benefit for the members and is also eyed to become the single card that members could use for any Pag-Ibig transaction.

Dela Peña said they now have 54 merchant partners nationwide for the card providing discounts to card holders.

“In Cebu we have about nine merchant partners and still negotiating for more. We have here SM, University of the Visayas and 2Go to name a few.

We’ll be adding more in the coming months,” she said.

They are also securing a permit from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for the card to be used in any Pag-ibig transaction, including loans and contributions inquiry.

“Soon we can already automatically load the loans in the card,” she said.

It can also function as a valid identification card as it is issued by Pag-ibig and it has a photo of the member in it.

Nationwide, there are now 500,000 members with the loyalty card and dela Peña said that they are targeting to engage more employers to get more members to avail of the card.

“We are prioritizing now those with many employees. We are, however, encouraging everyone to maximize this additional benefit. You can initiate it in your company and get your HR (human resource) to get in touch with us,” she said.
