ONE OF OMEGA Boxing Gym’s ace boxer, the  undefeated Jack “Golden Boy” Tepora, and his opponent Jilo Merlin of Benguet, Mountain Province, passed the official weigh-in for their scheduled 10-round non-title showdown today in Bacolod City.

Both Tepora and Merlin weighed in at 124 pounds in yesterday’s official weigh-in. They will fight for eight rounds.

Jack’s older brother and trainer, Christopher “Pingping” Tepora, expects his sibling to win via a knockout but they will be very cautious in dealing with Merlin, who has a vast experience inside the ring.

The 26-year-old Merlin has fought 37 times and chalked up 13 wins, two by knockout. He also has 22 losses and two draws.

The 22-year-old Tepora has an unbeaten record of 13 wins with nine knockouts.

“Ari gyud ma test akong manghud  (This is where my younger brother will be tested),” Christopher said.

The younger Tepora recently scored a sensational technical knockout victory against veteran Marvin Tampus last February in Dalaguete town, south Cebu.
