The Cebu provincial government turned over a lot to the Department of Education (DepEd) to permanently house its office in the province.

In his welcome remarks this morning Arden Monisit, DepEd Cebu Provincial Schools Division Superintendent said his office has no permanent office in over 61 years.

Monisit said the turnover of the lot and building in sitio Sudlon, barangay Lahug, Cebu City is a “dream come true” for DepEd whose Cebu office is located beside the Marcelo Fernan Press Center.

In 2008, DepEd Cebu moved in to what used to house the Integrated Provincial Health Office.

Also present during the turnover ceremony at the Casino Español were DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro, DepEd 7 Regional Director Juliet Jeruta, Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, and Provincial Board Member Peter John Calderon.
