THE Cebu Provincial Sports Commission and the Department of Education- Division of Cebu Province, is setting a province-wide training on basic coaching starting today.

The event hopes to identify potential coaches and athletes who can help the province to excel in national sports meets and  to expose the youth to sports and guide them away from drugs and extreme online gaming, said CPSC Executive Director Ramil Abing.

Abing added that the basic coaching training will be made available to coaches of different sports in different districts. CPSC offers training for coaching dual events like chess and badminton, for team events like basketball and baseball and for combat sports.

Meanwhile, the CPSC is hosting an ongoing basketball tourney which aims to uphold unity through basketball, and to identify potential players in the province.
