Elevens top Division 3

The 2011 Elevens retained their supremacy in Division 3 of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League as they won the championship with a 79-67 victory over the 2006 Fury in the finals on Sunday afternoon at the USC North Campus gym.

The duo of former USC Warriors Anthony Romaguerra and eventual division MVP Prince Malana proved to be too much to handle for the Fury as they combined to score more than half of the team’s output. Romaguerra led the way with 23 while Malana was as deadly with 22.

Malana also brought home additional hardware as he was named to the division’s Mythical Five selection along with teammate Dave Guardiario, the Fury’s Justin delos Reyes, the 2004 Rebels’ Lawrence Saballa and the 2007 Waybus’ Robert Codilla.

Meanwhile, third place was copped by the 2007 Dosmilsiete with a thrilling 77-74 overtime victory over the Rebels.

Vic Salon exploded for 28 points while Codilla and Mark Caumeran pitched in 16 each to spoil the incredible 40-point performance of the Rebels’ Saballa.
