World War 2 veteran found dead in septic tank
THE body of a 96-year old World War 2 veteran was found floating in a septic tank in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.
Cresencio Casul was reported missing since July 11 before he was found past 7 a.m. last Wednesday.
The man’s daughter, Magdalena Gabotero, 62, told police that her father was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Gabotero said they thought her father failed to find his way back home after he went missing.
Flyers containing the man’s photo were distributed in neighboring barangays.
Stench coming from the septic tank which was being repaired led to the discovery of the body.
The septic tank in front of the victim’s house was temporarily covered with GI sheets. Relatives believed that the victim may have accidentally fallen and drowned, police said.
