CEBU Province will get P1.5 billion worth of road projects through the Department of Public
Works and Highways (DPWH) in 2016, according to CEbu Gov. Hilario Davide III.
He said he was supposed to announce this in his State of the Province Address on August. 17.
Earlier this year, Capitol asked the national government for funding support for roads that
lead to tourism projects initiated by the province.
During his trip to Manila last week, Davide followed up the request.
“Thankfully, DPWH Secretary (Rogelio) Singson texted me that the request was included in their
budget for 2016,” he said.
The governor said he is hopeful that the amount will really be released to the provincial
government.
