Cebu City, San Juan sign sister city pact

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez signed a sister city agreement at the Radisson Blu Hotel on  Wednesday evening.

“Both parties have a mutual desire to establish friendship, cooperation, goodwill and an avenue for mutual economic and community development for the benefit of both cities,” the agreement read.

The signing was witnessed by Cebu City and San Juan City officials as well as Gomez’s son Sen. JV Ejercito and former Cebu City congressman Antonio Cuenco.

San Juan city officials are in Cebu for a four-day study tour and planning session.

They were oriented by Cebu City  personnel on the city’s programs and best practices on disaster resiliency, environmental protection and delivery of services.

They will also tour the city’s historical sites today.
