By: Melissa Q. Cabahug August 17,2015 - 01:09 AM

Officials of barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City face administrative complaints at the Ombudsman-Visayas for failing to allocate funds for  senior citizens.

The Paknaan Senior Citizens Association Inc. filed a complaint for dereliction of duty and usurpation of authority against the barangay officials of Paknaan before the Ombudsman-Visayas.

Lawyer Jamaal James Calipayan, executive secretary of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, said the complaint had also been referred to the Liga ng mga Barangay Office, City Legal Office and the Mandaue City Council.

Barangay Paknaan chairman Malaquias Soco denied the allegation, saying the barangay council is still finalizing the P140,000 share of the budget for the senior citizens.
