AFTER placing third in the March edition of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) monthly tournament, Omar Marsangca made sure the title would finally be his when he clinched the October crown and booked a slot in the “Bowler of the Year” finals slated in December.

Marsangca, a veteran CETBA kegler, topped the six-game series with 1,351 pinfalls to beat 23 other bowlers. Marsangca failed to win the March title after submitting a 1,138 total. Last year, Marsangca and fellow CETBA stalwart Alexander Lagcao topped the doubles event in the 15th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA)-Cebu Sinulog Open National Tournament held at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

The CETBA October Bowler of the Month tournament was held in SM City Cebu Bowling Center.

Marsangca scored his best score in the sixth and final game where he knocked down 246 pins. Finishing second was Fred Torrequemada who downed 1,313 pinfalls while Beth Ngo was the only lady bowler in the top three with a 1,289 total.

Fourth to fifth placers in the tournament held last Saturday were Baby Bacon and Ging Francisco who scored a total of 1,265 and 1,249 pinfalls, respectively.
Sixth to 10th placers were Jake Yap (1,248), Makoto Osada (1,241), Esther Francisco (1,236), Emie Osada (1,219) and Inday Aguilar (1,200).
Marsangca will join the other monthly tournament winners like Jomar Jumapao, Rey Velarde, Fel Alasagas among others.

Meanwhile, CETBA will be hosting the National Bowling Tour-Visayas Qualifying tournament on November 30. Before that, it will hold the 7th CETBA National Tenpin Open on November 25-29 at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
