Teachers take drug test

By: Marc Eric Cosep October 30,2015 - 01:37 AM

More than 100 teachers from three public schools in Cebu City took part in a random drug test yesterday.

None showed positive results of drug use  among the 70 teachers from Bulacao Community School.

The tests by the  Cebu City Office of Substance and Abuse Prevention (COSAP) are conducted among all city government employees as well.

Dr. Alice Utlang, head of COSAP, said only 31 out of  114 teachers of Inayawan Elementary School took a similar test yesterday morning.

Not all  teachers were able to participate  since COSAP could not handle a large crowd in the open venue, said Utlang.

Also yesterday afternoon, COSAP conducted a surprise drug test in Tejero National High School where all 40 teachers were able to join.

A seminar on the effects of illegal drugs was also conducted there.

Results of the tests in Inayawan Elementary School and Tejero National High School will be known today.
