Southwest University students gripe on CHED’s slow paced assistance

Over 100 students of Southwestern University-College of Medicine rallied in front of the regional Commission on Higher Education (CHED 7) office to denounce the agency’s alleged failure to provide assistance to students.
Among their complaints were the CHED’s failure to issue special orders to the 23 graduates of SWU’s medical program, the lack of endorsement of foreign students for visa renewal, and its lack of communication to the U.S. Board of Medicine to allow students to take the U.S. Medical board.

CHED 7 chief administrative officer Pacita Isagan said the Special Order (SO) applications and requests for endorsements were sent to the CHED central office in Quezon City and their office is just waiting for their approval.
“We are just implementing the policies and instructions given by the CHED central body,” Isagan said.
