OFW seeks help over hacked FB account

A FEMALE  Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Balamban town, midwest Cebu sought the help of police  after sexy photos  of other women were uploaded on her Facebook account.

Lita (not her real name),  a caregiver in Kuwait,  said  it was her former boyfriend Bernard, who posted the photos.

The man, a native of Cavite, claimed he was a member of the Philippine Air Force based in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The caregiver’s younger sister yesterday went to the Police Anti-Cybercrime Group at the Cebu Provincial Police Office to seek assistance.

Senior Insp. Michael Vertudazo was able to talk to Lita over the phone.

The woman said she and Bernard became friends on Facebook last year and later became lovers. She gave him her  Facebook account name and password. Lita said they eventually broke up because of jealousy.

Months later, said Lita,  she could no longer access her Facebook account and  suspects that the password was changed.

Someone then started posting lewd photos there, which could jeopardize her job in Kuwait, where Muslim culture is strict.

Police said they would help communicate with Facebook management to have the photos removed.

Vertudazo said the person behind the uploading of lewd photos may be charged for violation of Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act. Police checked Lita’s Facebook account yesterday but it was already deactivated.
