SIX houses were destroyed by fire which broke out in barangay Tuyan, City of Naga, south Cebu past noon yesterday.

An unplugged cellphone that overheated may have caused the fire that started in the house of Roel Manubag in sitio Whiteland, said Insp. Haydee Joy Daskeo, fire marshall of the Naga City Fire Station.

Police said the houses in the crowded sitio were made of light materials, causing the fire to spread quickly.

Fire damage was pegged at P315,000.

The fire was controlled in five minutes.  No one was reported injured  in the incident.
