FACEBOOK has already taken down the two hacked accounts of a Cebuana caregiver working in Kuwait and two other accounts of her former boyfriend where sexy photos of the caregiver were posted.

This developed as the Police Anti-Cybercrime team started gathering evidence against the former boyfriend whom the caregiver accused of uploading the sexy photos on those Facebook accounts.

“I already made the request to Facebook right after the interview last Friday if they could deactivate the accounts (including that) of the ex-boyfriend of the victim. When we checked, the accounts could not be found anymore,” said Senior Insp. Michael Vertudazo, a member of the Police Anti-Cybercrime team.

FACEBOOK REQUEST

The team made the request to Facebook after Lita (not her real name), who hails from Balamban town, sought their help upon finding out about the uploaded sexy photos.

The team is verifying with Camp Aguinaldo whether the former boyfriend is a member of the Philippine Air Force as he claimed.

Aside from establishing the real identity of the former boyfriend, the team is also gathering data from the deactivated accounts.

“We are now following the preservation of the accounts. We cannot get the data from Facebook unless we go through the mutual assistance treaty which means we have to make a letter to Department of Justice in Manila to represent our request,” he said.

The data from those accounts can help in extracting the personal information of the former boyfriend, his IP address and possibly his contact number.

HOW IT STARTED

The victim said she and her former boyfriend became friends on Facebook last year and later became lovers. She gave him her Facebook accounts names and passwords.

They broke up because of jealousy. Months later, the victim could no longer access her FB account, and she suspected her passwords were changed.

Someone then started posting lewd photos there and the caregiver was worried that it might jeopardize her job in Kuwait.

Vertudazo said the person behind the uploading of lewd photos may be charged for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act, which carries a penalty of imprisonment of at least seven years and a fine of at least P50,000.
