Filinvest to verify DPWH report on Il Corso violation

December 27,2015 - 11:20 PM

AN official of property developer Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) yesterday said they trusted their contractor to build the Il Corso lifestyle and commercial strip at the South Road Properties based on approved plans.

Nonetheless, Allan Go Alfon, FLI vice president and area general manager, said in a statement that they will have the report of the government right-of-way agent verified.

The report indicated the need for Filinvest to comply with setback requirements for projects undertaken along national roads.

The Department of Public Works and Highways Cebu City Engineering Office cited the report in its request to the Office of Building Official (OBO) to enforce the requirements.

Alfon said the building plans for the structures at Il Corso were submitted to the Cebu City Office of the Building Official (OBO) for approval prior to construction.

“We trust that our contractor has built Il Corso according to the plans approved by OBO,” he said in the same statement.

“Nonetheless, we will have this verified and checked together with DPWH and OBO so that we will be coordinated,” he added.

Il Corso is being built on a 10-hectare property by the sea at the SRP. It is part of City di Mare, a township that includes the 40-hectare property that FLI is developing in a joint venture with the Cebu City government.

Earlier, the DPWH also asked SM Prime Holdings, Inc. to set back SM Seaside City Cebu further from the Cebu South Coastal Road.
