A POLICE officer was treated for head wounds after an argument with a customer who bashed his head with a bottle during a disco in in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
PO1 Joseph Quilaton was in plainclothes when he confronted 26-year-old Raffy Nepomuceno who passed by the table of the policeman and his friends.
Nepomuceno said he noticed the policeman staring angrily at him and confronted him. An argument ensued.
At the height of the quarrel, Nepomuceno took a bottle and smashed it on the policeman’s head then tried to slash him with the broken glass.
Onlookers stopped the fight.
Nepomuceno, who was arrested in his parents’ house, said he didn’t know the man was a police officer because he wasn’t in uniform.
The injured policeman was brought to the Ildefonso Alcantara Memorial Hospital.
