It hasn’t frozen over, but Niagara Falls has become an icy spectacle, thanks to a blast of arctic wind and cold that blew around and froze the mist on surfaces and landscaping.
Tourism officials say Niagara Falls doesn’t freeze solid in the winter, despite legends to the contrary.
The Buffalo News (https://bit.ly/Kas5QT) reports there’s a section of the American Falls, one of three waterfalls that make up the natural attraction, that has frozen. The larger Horseshoe Falls continues to flow unimpeded.
It’s all surrounded by a white blanket of snow and ice, which coats everything from the viewing railings to trees.
The view may not be around for long, though. A high near-50 degrees Fahrenheit is forecasted for today.
