TEAM Hayashi-ha Shitoryukai Karatedo Club showcased its prowess in the field of martial arts after winning seven medals in the 4th Adidas International Karatedo Championships held at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City over the weekend.

Dickie Maage, Marie Eliza Sacedon and Rafael Vidal led the medal haul for the Cebu team by winning a gold medal each in the sparring competition.

Aside from winning a gold medal in the kumite tournament, Sacedon also won a silver in the kata or form competition while her sister Maria Leonor Sacedon won a silver medal and bronze medal in the same events. Their sister Marie Christine chipped in a bronze medal in the kumite competition.

Last year, the team went home with three gold medals and two silver medals in the same event. This is the fourth time they joined the prestigious tournament.

The team recently won 15 gilts, 14 silver medals and six bronze medals after hosting the Hayashi-ha Shitoryukai Karatedo Cup last December at the Insular Square in Mandaue City.
