P1.2M drugs seized, 9 nabbed in raid
About P1.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in two police operations in Cebu City and Mandaue City.
In Cebu City, police seized P700,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested seven persons in three simultaneous operations Thursday night in barangay Duljo-Fatima.
Police raided the house of Michael Cuaderno and Leonisa Abellar based on search warrants issued by Judge Wilfredo Navarro.
The two subjects were arrested after police recovered several packs of suspected shabu.
Two others identified as Mark Raymond Tan and Kier Gatila were arrested as they have pending warrants of arrest for drugs.
Three men identified as Joebert Abarquez, Rosendo Abarquez and Christopher Tandoy were also arrested after they were caught with packs of suspected shabu in their possession.
Six medium packs and 267 small packs of suspected shabu were recovered in simultaneous operations. An M16 armalite rifle and a .38 caliber revolver allegedly owned by Cuaderno were also seized.
The team also seized 52 units of video carrera machines.
In Mandaue city, an estimated P500,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized from Gilbert Sabal, 42, and Roel Avila, 38, in a raid in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City yesterday.
The houses of the two subjects were simultaneously raided by virtue of search warrants. Police found packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from each house.
Sabal admitted that he started selling drugs a few months ago.
