METAFIT TRIATHLON TEAM FORMED

By: Glendale G. Rosal January 17,2016 - 11:12 PM

A GROUP of health buffs will be taking their advocacy to another level.

Led by Alan Choachuy, Metafit Cebu team has been formed to compete in upcoming triathlon events such as the Cebu City Triathlon on January 24, the Tabuelan 111 Triathlon, Hunat Sugbu Triathlon and the prestigious Cobra Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championships slated August.

The team also plans to compete in long distance footraces in Cebu.

Apart from Choachuy, other members of the team are triathletes Jeffrey Coro, marathoner Michael Manabat and triathlete couple Fritz and Suzette Co.

“We’ve been married for 15 years and we already have kids. We never thought that we can finish an Ironman race but we realized that it’s not impossible if you work hard in training and with proper discipline. We want to prove to everyone that we can all become an athlete and live a healthy lifestyle,” said Fritz.

Metafit, a fitness boot camp, was established by Choachuy five years ago.

“Our advocacy is to help obese and overweight Filipinos in their journey to a healthy lifestyle. We have a common problem and I was once an obese person living life on the edge with a very unhealthy lifestyle,” said Choachuy.
