Police arrested two men and recovered five stolen motorcycles last Friday in Mandaue City.

Paul Arenasa, 24, and Michael Chiong, 32, of Kauswagan Road, barangay Talamban, Cebu City, were detained at the Centro Police Station pending the filing of charges.

Police said both suspects were arrested after Ronelio Repaja, one of the owners of the stolen motorcycles, spotted his Honda XRM motorcycle with an armed man sitting on it in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.

Repaja called the police.

A Mandaue police team led by Supt. Michael Anthony Bastes responded and surprised Arenasa and Chiong. After frisking the suspects, they found two loaded unlicensed .38 revolvers.

In the follow-up operation, the Investigation and Detection Management Branch team of the Mandaue police, coordinated with the Talamban police and recovered four more stolen motorcycles from the persons to whom the motorcycles were pawned.

Two Honda Wave motorcycles, a Honda XRM motorcycle and a B90 Enduro motorcycle were retrieved by the police.
