UV makes CYBL finals

THE GRASSROOTS basketball program of the University of the Visayas (UV) continues to flourish as their under-10 and under-15 teams each made the finals in their respective divisions in the Cebu Youth Basketball League 2015 last Saturday at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.

In the under-10 class, UV defeated the Monterey School of Talisay, 53-40, to book a spot in the finals, where it will face the University of San Carlos (USC)-North Campus, which beat its sister team, the USC South, 48-14.

In the under-15 Division 1 semis, UV upended USC, 51-35, to clinch a berth in the finals. Standing opposite UV will be the Cebu Eastern College (CEC), which took care of the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, 69-61.

In Division 2, Ateneo de Cebu-2 and Don Bosco-B will clash in the finals after they took care of their respective opponents. Ateneo de Cebu thrashed USC North-B, 9463, while Don Bosco eked past Ateneo de Cebu-3, 59-57.

In the under-18 Division 2 semis, SCSIT sprinted past UV Mandaue, 62-47, while Ateneo de Cebu’s Passerelle team clobbered the PAREF-Springdale, 67-57.
