A MOTHER of three children was found dead in what was suspected to be a case of suicide in barangay Luay, Toledo City, midwest Cebu.
Gechile Alicaba, 26, was found suspended from the ceiling of her house with a rope tied around her neck, said PO2 Bombino Enriquez of the Toledo Police Station.
Police are still investigating what drove the woman to kill herself.
Dario, the woman’s 27-year-old husband, told police that he last talked to his wife when they had their lunch last Friday.
The man told his wife not to listen to rumors spreading in the neighborhood.
Dario did not elaborate what the rumor was about, said PO2 Enriquez.
Dario left the house to play basketball.
About two hours later, a neighbor informed Dario that his wife was found hanging from the ceiling of their house.
The woman was taken to the Toledo District Hospital where she was declared dead by the attending doctor, police said.
