INTERNATIONAL best-selling author Lang Leav has written a love poem for AlDub—actor Alden Richards and “Dubsmash Queen” Maine Mendoza a.k.a Yaya Dub—the phenomenal loveteam of long-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”
Leav and Mendoza exchanged messages on Twitter yesterday morning after the New Zealand-based poet posted her piece titled, “Stars in Love.”
“Hope you like it mainedcm. Happy Valentine’s Day! #ALDUBisLove #ALDUBHappyValentines,” Leav tweeted with the poem which comes with a sketch of
Mendoza.
“Omg this means a lot to me, thank you very much! Happy Valentines to you and @MichaelFaudet!” Mendoza tweeted after reading the poem.
Leav took notice after Twitter user Flayer One sent this tweet Friday evening: “Hi! @langleav I love ur poems and quotes! Can I make a request? if u’re not busy can u pls make a poem about “AlDub”?
At past 6 a.m. on Saturday, Leav posted a reply: “I might write a piece for #ALDUBisLove if @mainedcm asked me. I think they are so cute together!”
Visibly thrilled, Mendoza responded: “oh my gosh thank you, make it happen pretty please.”

Leav promptly replied with: “Okay, if you say so! Much love.” On her Facebook page, Leav posted this message following the fans’ reactions to “Stars in Love.”
“It’s so lovely to see all the positive feedback. I enjoyed putting this piece together and I’m really happy with the poem and sketch of Maine Mendoza. It was a lot of fun and let’s not forget Valentine’s Day is all about love. So keep sharing the good vibes.”
Known for her best-selling books, “Love & Misadventures,” “Lullabies” and “Memories,” Leav won the Qantas Spirit of Youth Award. “Lullabies” was also the winner of the Goodreads Choice award for poetry in 2014. Leav visited the Philippines for a book-signing event in December 2014.
Meanwhile, in last Saturday’s episode of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye, Alden and Yaya Dub or Divina to her Lolas Nidora (played by Wally Bayola), Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) and Tinidora (Jose Manalo) went on a pre-Valentine date in Tagaytay.
The two shared a meal and exchanged Valentine’s Day gifts. Divina then read a poem she composed for Alden, which left many of their fans in tears.
Part of her poem read:
“Inaamin kong ako’y takot na mahulog sa isang tulad mo
Ngunit alam ko na darating ang araw na kinakatakutan ko
Pero ano nga bang magagawa ko?
Tila ang loob ko’y unti unting nahuhulog sa ‘yo.”
