TWO ailing persons were separately found hanging dead in southern Cebu last Sunday.

Sheila Mae M. Alipin, 21, was found with a nylon rope tied around her neck. She was hanging from a beam in her kitchen in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Talisay City Police investigator SPO1 Mike Espina said Alipin was diagnosed with a cyst in her stomach a day before she allegedly committed suicide.

Her three-year-old child was crawling on the floor, unaware of the incident.  Farther south in Boljoon town, 68-year-old Vicente Fernandez was believed to have ended his life, also by hanging.

Fernandez was found with a rubber water hose tied around his neck and hanging from a beam inside a pigpen at the back of his house in Sitio Baclayan Gamay, Barangay El Pardo, Boljoon town. His widow Rustica told police Fernandez had long been suffering from a lung disease.
