The Cebu City Transportation Office is implementing a U-Turn slot under the South Road Properties (SRP) viaduct today.
CCTO executive director Rey Gealon said with the U-Turn slot in place, vehicles from Talisay taking the left turn to Vestil Road (Mambaling Access) will no longer be allowed.
“This won’t disrupt the flow of traffic vehicles from the viaduct to Talisay. This is a permanent implementation,” he told Cebu Daily News. Traffic signages are in place directing traffic flow to the U-turn slot under the viaduct.
Additional traffic enforcers are likewise deployed to augment SRP mobile personnel in enforcing the the U-turn slot.
“Earlier this morning, we experienced slow-moving traffic and this is anticipated since drivers have to adjust to it as well. This is another step for an effective and efficient traffic operations and management in the coastal road, in particular, and the city’s roads, in general,” Gealon said.
