Repairs on the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge will resume on April 2, Saturday.

This was confirmed during a stakeholders meeting at the Department of Public Works Central Visayas (DPWH 7) office on Tuesday afternoon.

“There’s no other perfect time to resume, but now, especially that classes are done,” regional DPWH director Ador Canlas said.

Project Engineer Danilo Pasicaran said the contractor will work 24/7 and is expected to complete the project by August 29.

The bridge will be open to two-way traffic from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. while the contractor works underneath the bridge.

One lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and only Mandaue-bound vehicles will be allowed to pass. Pasicaran advised Mactan-bound vehicles to use the Marcelo Fernan Bridge.
