TWO persons including a 16-year-old girl died while two others were injured in a scuffle that occured during a disco held as part of the fiesta activities in barangay Nangka, Boljoon town in Cebu Friday night.

Police identified the fatalities as Roger M. Leurque, a resident of Malabuyoc town and 16-year-old Grade Nine student Maribeth Cardeno Ceciban, a resident of barangay Nangka.

PO1 Edwin Belamala and another resident Juditho Pilago were confined at the Chong Hua hospital in Cebu City and Oslob District Hospital in Oslob town, respectively.

Boljoon police said the incident started when Belamala told Leurque to stop causing trouble after Leurque started doing so during the fiesta.

Leurque responded by stabbing Belamala and taking his rifle just as the policeman walked away.

A scuffle ensued between Belamala and Leurque who pulled the trigger and fired five shots, one of which hit Ceciban in the head. Pilago also sustained a gunshot wound on his right leg.

PO1 Noel Pelone, who heard the gunshots, arrived in the area and shot Leurque with his M14 rifle.

All of the victims were brought to the Oslob District Hospital but Leurque and Ceciban did not make it.
