Drugs, firearms seized from house of Barili council candidate’s brother

POLICE seized guns, drugs and ammunition in a buy bust operation in sitio Tayong, barangay Guibuangan, Barili town in southern Cebu at 1:15 am Tuesday.

The police’s target, suspect Excel Guingoyon, managed to escape arrest.

Guingoyon is the brother of incumbent barangay chairman Nelson Guingoyon who is running for municipal councilman under One Cebu mayoral candidate Marlon Garcia.

Seized from Guingoyon’s house were four big packs of unspecified drugs, 13 small sachets of drugs worth P200 each and 22 triangulr sachets worth P500 each.

They also seized several firearms loaded with ammunition such as two submachine guns, two .357 revolvers and assorted guns.

Police did manage to arrest Guingoyon’s suspected accomplice Erwin Libradilla Flores who had five small sachets of drugs in his possesion.
