A total of 60 small business owners dubbed as urban entrepreneurs and 85 farmers from Busay and Sudlon II, Cebu City have completed the Basics of Business Literacy Seminar organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) with funding support from the Cebu City government.

The seminars were conducted in partnership with the Cebu People’s Multipurpose Cooperative and Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative last April 23 and 30.

The seminar discussed the following topics: Basics of Financial Management, Marketing and Alternative Source of Income, Leadership and Management, and People Skills.

The farmers, also called rural entrepreneurs, were also provided an overview on good agricultural practices and briefed on its importance and benefits.

Resource speakers were Belle Grandea of Frontgate HR Consultancy; Joseph Subong of the University of Cebu; and Adonis Traje of AFOS Foundation for GAP.

The Basic Literacy Seminar is part of the Business Development and Management Services Program of CCCI that aims to capacitate the micro entrepreneurs with relevant business principles to boost their entrepreneurial spirit and improve business management knowledge.
