ANS-A spikers lead CYVL elims

THE Abellana National School (ANS)–Team A grabbed the solo lead after scoring two straight-set wins yesterday at the start of the Cebu Youth Volleyball League (CYVL) at Lux Oriens Gym in Sacred Heart School–Ateneo De Cebu (SHS-ADC) in barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

First, ANS–Team A pounded the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 25-14, 29-27 then the Spiker Lions–Girls (SL-G) of Liloan, Cebu, 25-14, 25-22.

Not to be outdone is the ANS–Team B which broke the hearts of the home fans with a dominant, 25-17, 25-11 win against SHS-ADC Grade School.

In other games, the USC Warriors (1-1 win-loss) barged into the win column with a come-from-behind, 23-25, 25-12, 25-18 victory over winless SHS-ADC–Grade School (0-2).

The elimination round continues this morning with teams gunning for a spot in the afternoon finals.

The top two teams after the elimination round will duke it out for the crown while the third and fourth ranked squads battle for the bronze.
