FORMER congressmen Antonio Cuenco of Cebu City’s second district and Antonio Yapha Jr. of Cebu’s 3rd district were indicted for violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (RA 3019) by the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman found probable cause to charge both Cuenco and Yapha for endorsing an unqualified non-government organization (NGO) to undertake a government project in 2004 using their combined Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) amounting to P6 million.

Eduardo Lecciones, regional executive director of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit, was also charged with two counts of graft.
