Vendors group told to vacate Carbon Public Market office

July 20,2016 - 02:53 PM

The Cebu City government has issued another order for the Cebu City United Vendors Association (CCUVA) to vacate the area in Carbon Public Market which they are using as their office.

CCUVA is holding office at the unit 3, second floor of the Carbon Public Market.

Market administrator Winefredo Miro said they informed the occupants of CCUVA office Wednesday morning to give them enough time to vacate the area.

The closure order was signed on July 15 by Mayor Tomas Osmeña who said that CCUVA has not been recognized by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since March 15, 2004.

Osmeña also said that any plans for the area occupied by CCUVA will depend on the decision of the market administrator since it is a civil property./UP Cebu Intern Amy Macalinao
